"Trancing Pass"

Sitting by the window,
entranced by time and space;
caustic reaction
to all within the bubble of this place.
Listening to the diesel engine
revving in the yard.
My mind cruises down the highway;
asphalt burning, play another card.
Dirty Harley bandana
tied in a knot around my leg.
Its meaning lost along with the past,
drowned by the transfusion of another keg.
Eyes closed in remembrance
of a bonfire on the river.
The echoes of rock music playing,
and a solitary giver.
Take me out of my reverie
of times I once thought were sweet.
Remind me of the enigma
and life back on the street.
I'll pack up my hole-ridden blue jeans
while listening to the thunder rumble.
The best of times are in the now;
don't cause my feet to stumble.
